Excursion into the traditional rural life of Cyprus We spent 12 wonderful days in Christina's house in Lasa. It is very impressive with what love for traditions she has created this house. There are a lot of decorations typical for the area, handmade blankets, old wooden objects and much more. In a separate room there is even a kind of museum. Here you can still find very old clothes worn by the great grandmother, objects from agriculture and old furniture - a living past. But at the same time the house is equipped with everything you need to live (plenty of towels, dishes, glasses, pots...). Moreover, the fridge was full when we arrived, so that we didn't have to buy anything for the first breakfast and could enjoy the wonderful wine on the first evening. The greeting couldn't be better. We especially enjoyed Dimitra's culinary art almost every day. At our request, she prepared a variety of vegetarian dishes, which contained everything the country had to offer at that time (artichokes, asparagus, peas...) - all delicious and genuinely Cypriot. You sit for dinner in a very personal and small room, which serves as kitchen, restaurant, meeting point of the village and TV corner. And everything with dessert and café at super reasonable prices. The Easter days in the village church were a special experience - according to the orthodox calendar one week later than here. Christina took us with her and explained a lot. Also otherwise she was always approachable and extremely helpful. We can highly recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants to get to know village life in Cyprus and appreciates human encounters. Best wishes for your future from Bettina and Rolf!”
